Why a surgical oncology consultation?

A surgical oncologist specialises in the role of surgery within cancer treatment. A consultation can help determine whether an operation is appropriate, what the goals of surgery are and how surgery may be integrated with other cancer treatments.

For patients seeking a second opinion, the consultation can also provide an independent review of existing reports and proposed treatment.
